Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Cancer Research and Reviews upholds the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing and considers plagiarism a serious violation of academic and ethical norms. To maintain the originality and credibility of the work we publish, we have established a comprehensive plagiarism policy.

Plagiarism Detection
All submitted manuscripts are screened using iThenticate, a leading plagiarism detection software, to check for similarity and ensure the originality of the content. Authors are expected to maintain a similarity index below the journal’s acceptable threshold, and any significant overlaps will be carefully reviewed.

Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism may take various forms, including but not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text, data, or ideas without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing or rephrasing of others’ work without acknowledgment.
  • Self-plagiarism, involving reuse of one’s own previously published work without proper citation.
  • Verbatim or near-verbatim translation without appropriate citation.
  • Unauthorized use of intellectual property, including images, figures, tables, or other content, without attribution.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  • Identified plagiarism will be highlighted to authors for clarification or correction.
  • Depending on severity, manuscripts may be rejected or returned for revisions.
  • Serious or repeated violations may result in notification of the authors’ institutions or funding agencies.
  • Authors may face temporary or permanent bans from submitting to the journal.
  • Post-publication, articles may be retracted in accordance with the journal’s correction and retraction policies.

Preventing Plagiarism
Authors are encouraged to:

  • Properly cite and reference all sources.
  • Attribute all quoted or paraphrased content correctly.
  • Obtain permission for copyrighted material.
  • Avoid self-plagiarism by citing and referencing previous work.
  • Use plagiarism detection software, such as iThenticate, prior to submission.

Plagiarism from Repository Deposition
Authors submitting material previously deposited in repositories or institutional archives must:

  • Provide proper citation and attribution to the original repository.
  • Ensure originality or compliance with copyright agreements for repository material.
  • Reuse material only with proper paraphrasing and clear attribution to the original source.
  • Disclose repository deposition during submission to ensure transparent peer review.
